NOTE TO EXISTING CUSTOMERS:

Over next 48 hours, all your passwords would be changed and new passwords would be sent to you. This only applies to few customers. The reason for the same has already been emailed to you. Please do not share your website details to anyone. For all your project related queries or support requests please email us at hello@dreamsmedia.in. If you receive email from any other email address requesting for any information, please report it to us and ignore the same.

All existing projects would be completed within next 10 days. From Monday 20th February on-wards, we would be available on Phone (24 hours a day & on all days) and on GTalk & Skype during business hours (10:00 am till 6:00 pm on weekdays.)

ROAD AHEAD:

In last 18 months we have had many highs & lows. It was easier to do things when I worked as a freelancer. But with growth, inefficient management of team & personal setbacks, I have not been able to do as much as I can or should. While managing day to day operation, I had forgotten to think about why I created Dreams Media & long term goals.

Without building a great team, growing the company would not be possible. Without reliable partners who understand my passion for the work I do, working on new things would be difficult. Hence, it only seems fair that until I solve these 2 issues, taking on new work needs to be stopped.

In last 18 months 90% of the work we did was either of existing customers or from clients who were referred to us by our existing customers. I am thankful for this and understand that I need to provide lot more.

We have had an exciting journey so far. Unlike most firms, that complain about erratic client behavior - http://clientsfromhell.net/ we have never faced such issues in last 3 years. We are fortunate to have clients that understand and value our work and co-operate with us beyond our expectation.

Currently we are setting up a new team and are no longer accepting new work till 30th of March, 2012. We would use this time to organize our company, build a team and discuss with our existing customers about their grievances. Once we achieve this we would be ready deliver exceptional services to existing & new customers.

We regret to inform you that we would remain closed till 27th 29th of September and would not be able to take any new projects until mid October.

Due to personal reasons, we had to intermittently close our work couple of times since March 2011 due to which we have been unable to finish our current load of work. And as it would not be fair on our existing clients, we have decided to stop taking new work until we have successfully completed every single project small or big.

The reason behind our decision is, developers love Drupal and Joomla, but we do forget developers develop but do not use the sites that we develop for our customers. Drupal and Joomla are no doubt great content management systems which many features, but then again, when a customer wants to be able to just manage their website, we want him to have a clean interface to carry our routine tasks and a small learning curve.

WordPress with its each new version, has delivered more than anyone could have asked for. Their interface remains simple till date and the direction in which they are moving only assures us more that they would always make sure that their interface remains simple. Custom post type feature has also openeded the door to more easier customization based on user content.

We do have customers who have been informed by their earlier developers that WordPress is not good for search engine optimization or has bugs, etc. Well this is just rediculous. Without sounding like a sales person for WordPress, I would just like to say that WordPress is like Iphone. Its a great piece of technology. What a person can do with it, is based on his imagination and skills.

The software that we would now use for all projects would be:

• WordPress – For General websites, Corporate Sites, Blogs, Author websites, Content Portals
• Magento & PrestaShop – For E-commerce websites

P.S. Its not just us choosing WordPress over other platforms. Recently “The New York Observer” revamped their website and changed it from Drupal to WordPress.

The last website www.postbox51.nl has a very experimental design unlike we have ever made, but it also marks a new beginning for us.
